CAR MAGAZINE celebrate 60 years of Porsche by asking Derek Bell to drive a 911 2.7 RS Carerra and a 997 GT2 around Rockingham.  They also asked him to bring his own 924 Carerra GTS (given to him by Porsche after driving one at Le Mans in 1979).  Watch the video here.  If only it (the 924) would start . . . .

General Porsche News

Feb 25th 2008 : Porsche reported today that its production of the 911 model will be on hold for between two and three days, due to a gas explosion in the spray-painting area of its main production facility in Zuffenhausen, Germany.

Reports indicate that the explosion caused two employees to suffer minor injuries, but no fatalities were incurred. The spray-painting unit and some other areas of the production system have been partially flooded, after water from the fire-extinguishing system covered the area.

At 160 911’s per day, Porsche stands to hold up a significant portion of the sports car supply. However the Cayenne and Boxster, both produced at facilities elsewhere in Europe, shouldn’t be affected by the accident.

Will this delay the rumoured delivery of #3's new GT2 ?
